Classes

When enrolling for our full dance season (August through June) we go by the age that your child is, as of September 1st.


Pre-Dance

Pre-dance: Tuesday 4:00 PM

Pre-dance Ballet & Tap – Ages 3 – 5 Creative movement, song, and dance will encourage social and motor development. Basic dance skills and terminology are introduced at this level as well as musicality, coordination, listening, and following directions. 

Attire: Pink ballet tights, pink leotard, pink ballet shoes, black patent leather tap shoes. Hair should always be secured away from the face in a ponytail or bun.


Level 1

  • Level 1: Thursday 4:00 PM

Our level 1 Ballet & Tap Combo will introduce basic ballet vocabulary and classroom etiquette. For our elementary age dancers – enter the world of ballet and tap to develop strength, alignment, rhythm skills, coordination, knowledge, and a love of these foundational techniques. The purpose of this class is to provide a strong foundation for continued dance training as well as develop a love for dance itself.

  • Attire: Pink ballet tights, pink leotard, pink ballet shoes, black patent leather tap shoes. Hair should always be secured away from the face in a ponytail or bun.

Level 2

Level 2: Wednesday 4:30 PM Tap

Level 2: Wednesday 5:15 PM Ballet & Jazz

Our level 2 continues to build on skills learned in Level 1 but are also appropriate for students new to dance and are taking a dance class for the first time.

  • Ballet: Classical Ballet provides the necessary foundation that is needed to be successful in every other form of dance. Traditional barre work, center work and combinations are included in all classes. Correct ballet training develops poise, grace, posture, flexibility, strength, agility, a sculpted body, and impeccable technique.
  • Jazz: Classes teach basic jazz dance technique, terminology and movement quality with an emphasis on proper execution of jazz isolations, rhythms and style performed to contemporary music.
  • Attire: Pink ballet tights, Black leotard, pink ballet shoes & EJ2 Capezio jazz shoe in caramel. Hair should always be secured away from the face in a ponytail or bun.
  • Tap:  Tap is all about rhythm, footwork, and using the feet as a percussive “instrument”. Key elements in tap class are timing, rhythm, and musicality. Various styles will be incorporated into class, including Broadway tap and Rhythm tap.
  • Attire: Black leotard, pink or tan tights& black Maryjane Capezio taps.

Level 3 & 4

  • Jazz: Tuesday 6:00 PM

 Jazz Classes teach basic jazz dance technique, terminology and movement quality with an emphasis on proper execution of jazz isolations, rhythms and style performed to contemporary music. 

  • Attire: White shirt, black tights or black shorts, Capezio EJ2 Jazz Shoes Style No: EJ2 in black.
  • Tap:  Friday 5:00 PM

Tap is all about rhythm, footwork, and using the feet as a percussive “instrument”. Key elements in tap class are timing, rhythm, and musicality. Various styles will be incorporated into class, including Broadway tap and Rhythm tap.

  • Attire: White shirt, black tights or black shorts, and black Slip-on tap or tie up.
  • Lyrical: Thursday 5:00 PM 

 Lyrical is expressive, fluid, and graceful. This class will examine the differences in the styles and find moments of overlap through various challenges across the floor exercises and extended center combinations. (One 60 min. class/week)

  • Attire: black tights, White shirt, BLOCH Eclipse Canvas Lyrical Shoes Style No: S0619 half-sole lyrical shoes permitted. Hair should always be secured away from the face in a ponytail or bun.
